After Thursday's verdict, doubts have arisen about whether many schools will have science departments. Birbhum's Nalhati High School for Girls has no life science teacher after the verdict.

The headmaster is holding a bell, the headmistress is opening the door.

At least 26,000 people lost their jobs in one order. School authorities are facing problems as the jobs of so many teachers and education workers have been cancelled in one go. On Friday, teachers swept the school in some places, and rang the bell in others. In addition, there is uncertainty about how multiple subjects will be taught in higher secondary schools and whether it will affect the results of the higher secondary exams.

Sources claim that thousands of unemployed teachers did not go to school on this day. Although Education Minister Bratya Basu said on this day, "There is no information that 17 thousand teachers are not going to school. What should teachers do, what should not be done - Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said. She gave a humanitarian message to the unemployed. I appeal to those teachers, have faith in the Chief Minister. "

However, after Thursday's verdict, doubts have arisen about whether there will be a science department in many schools. There was no life science teacher at Nalhati High School for Girls in Birbhum after the verdict. Of the six teachers who lost their jobs at Hamiltonganj High School in Alipurduar, three taught chemistry, mathematics and biology. Higher Secondary Education Parliament sources claim that there are 34 subjects in higher secondary, including 'data science' and artificial intelligence, which are not taught at the secondary level. Trained teachers are out of jobs because of teaching all that. As a result, there may be problems in teaching all those subjects.

An official of the Board of Secondary Education claims that the announcement of the results of the secondary school will not be delayed due to the cancellation of the jobs of teachers. However, the president of the Higher Secondary Education Council, Chiranjeev Bhattacharya, said, "There may be problems with checking the records in higher secondary schools. Of those who are checking the records, 10 to 15 percent of the teachers are on the list of those whose jobs have been cancelled."

According to parliament sources, there are 20-25 examiners under the chief examiners of the higher secondary examination in the state. It has happened that seven-eight examiners returned the records to one chief examiner after knowing that the jobs have been cancelled. However, the Speaker of the Parliament claimed, “One or two teachers who lost their jobs have returned their accounts to the Chief Examiner.”

At Sahapur High School in Ilambazar, Birbhum, as the jobs of two educationists were cancelled, Headmaster Salauddin Ahmed had to do everything from opening the school’s lock on Friday to ringing the bell after the class exams and closing the classrooms after the school. Similarly, at Udaipur Girls High School in Raiganj, Headmistress Nabanita Sarkar opened the school’s doors today as two fourth-grade staff lost their jobs.

Out of 41 teachers at Ganges High School (Hindi medium) in Banshberia, Hooghly, 15 were cancelled. They did not come to school on Friday. Four of the rest did not come because they were on ‘leave’. Headmistress Vishal Tiwari provided ‘guards’ during the exams to manage the situation. He said, "I don't know how long we can continue like this!" Many school authorities are considering temporarily hiring part-time teachers to fill the shortage of teachers and education workers. Again, the fifth and sixth grade departments have been combined in the Kasthashali Nivanani High School in Purbasthali, East Burdwan. So that teachers can take additional classes in grades nine and ten.

Out of 44 teachers at the Hajinagar Adarsh Hindi School in the Barrackpore Industrial Area, 18 have lost their jobs. A section of 3,500 students went to school today and demanded that teachers be hired immediately to keep teaching normal. The opposite picture is at Sutir Bahutali High School in Murshidabad and Kurumba High School in Aushgram, East Burdwan. The in-charge teacher (TIC) of Sutir School, Ziaul Haque, and the in-charge teacher of Aushgram School, Devdas Singh—both are jobless. Both of them said, "Exams are going on in the school. How can I leave the responsibility of the school in this situation?"
